Blood Tests:
Blood tests are a cornerstone of veterinary diagnostics, offering a wealth of information about your pet’s internal health. Dr. Anita can perform a variety of blood tests including complete blood counts (CBC) and biochemistry panels, to assess organ function, detect infections, and identify conditions like anaemia, diabetes, or kidney disease. These tests are crucial for diagnosing underlying issues that may not be apparent through a physical examination alone.

Cytology:
Cytology involves the examination of cells under a microscope to diagnose conditions such as infections, tumours, or inflammatory diseases. Whether it’s a skin mass, ear infection, or abnormal discharge, Dr. Anita uses cytology to provide a precise diagnosis, enabling targeted and effective treatment.

Urinalysis:
Urinalysis is a key diagnostic tool for assessing your pet’s urinary tract and kidney health. By analysing urine samples, Dr. Anita can detect infections, crystals, and other abnormalities that may indicate conditions like urinary tract infections, bladder stones, or kidney disease. This non-invasive test provides valuable information for maintaining your pet’s overall health.

Heartworm Testing:
Heartworm disease is a serious condition that can be life-threatening if left untreated. Dr. Anita offers heartworm testing as part of your pet’s regular health checks, ensuring early detection and prompt treatment. Preventative care is also emphasised to protect your pet from this dangerous parasite.

Intestinal Parasite Screening:
Intestinal parasites can cause a range of health issues in pets, from mild discomfort to severe illness. Dr. Anita conducts intestinal parasite screenings to detect the presence of worms, protozoa, and other parasites that can affect your pet’s digestive health. Early detection allows for effective treatment and prevents the spread of parasites to other pets or family members.

Personalised Treatment Plans:
With the detailed information obtained from these diagnostic tests, Dr. Anita can develop personalised treatment plans that address your pet’s specific needs. Whether it’s a simple dietary adjustment, a course of medication, or a referral to a specialist, you can trust that your pet’s care is based on accurate and thorough diagnostic findings.

By bringing these diagnostic and pathology services directly to your home, Dr. Anita makes it easier to keep your pet healthy without the stress of clinic visits. Her commitment to accurate diagnosis and effective treatment ensures that your pet receives the highest standard of care.

Diagnostic Imaging:

Services such as Xrays, Ultrasounds, MRI and CT Scans can be arranged by Dr. Anita with the numerous contacts she has developed after living in Cairns for over 10 years.
